I took advantage of this holiday : )

Dry Ingredient Mason Jars

 Peanut Butter Cocoa Cookies

FIRST

I found cute little mason jars with already

decorated tops at SAVERS 2 for $1. I bought

6 of them :)

THEN, I searched my cabinets to figure

out what ingredients I had 

FINALLY, I assembled to jars and created tags :)

INGREDIENTS

3/4C Flour

1/3C Packed Brown Sugar

1/2C CoCoa Powder

1/3C PB2 (powdered Peanut Butter)

1/2tsp Baking Soda

Chocolate Chips

THEY ADD:

1 egg

1/2C Butter

1tsp vanilla

TAGS:

On One Side:

"Just Add 1 egg, 1/2c butter, and 1tsp vanilla"

Other side:

Directions

- Preheat Oven to 375

- Blend Butter, Egg, and Vanilla

- Add jar contents, Mix well

- Drop dough balls on ungreased

baking sheet

- Bake 8-10 minutes

Decorative Styrofoam Balls

YOU NEED:

-Styrofoam ball (MICHAELS CRAFT STORE)

-Glue Gun

-Hemp String

- Burlap

- Newspaper 

and, LOTS OF TIME & PATIENCE 

NEWSPAPER DIRECTIONS:

-Tear little pieces of tea-stained

news paper

-Hot glue each individual

ripped piece onto styrofoam ball

- after THREE NIGHTS of tearing

and gluing, I finally finished. It was 

totally worth the time : )

HEMP STRING:

Fairly simple, start your hemp string on one

side finding your way around the styrofoam ball

lining each row closely to the previous

BURLAP:

- Cut strips of burlap 

- glue to the ball facing the same direction

- To cover the top of the ball where there is extra strip,

simply use burlap strips to make "flower petal" shapes and

hot glue to the top.

- Finish with a rolled piece of burlap as the middle of the burlap flower

(sorry for the lack of pictures!! )

Flower Vase Lamp

YOU NEED:

Lamp Shade (Antique shop $1 each)

Vase/base (Goodwill $2 each)

Lamp Kit (Home Depot $12 each)

Burlap

Ribbon (not necessary)

Spray Paint

Glass Drill Bit

Light Bulb

LAMP SHADE:

-I purchased these lamp shades from

an antique shop in Morris, IL

-I used stencils and black spray paint

on burlap to cover the lamp shade 

Garage Sale Steals & Forever Finds

My latest hobby is searching for little decor at garage sales or goodwill that

 I can re-model for my own apartment!

$1 COFFEE TABLE STATUE

So, this little number started as just a piece of black rusted branch statue that cost me only $1.  I took it home, spray painted it teal and added little flower accents

 

 

Once I have moved in, Ill update with the entire 

coffee table set up that I thrift-ed :)

FOREVER 21 FINDS

Visited the Yorktown mall today and am SO excited

to show off my new outfits that I came across.

Forever 21 always seems to be Hit or Miss 

when I visit. This time..I'd consider a hit, woo!

Banana + Egg = PANCAKES & DIY Skyline Canvas

EASIEST BREAKFAST EVER

 Everything you need is in this picture!

I used 1 banana and 1 egg

1. Mash the banana

2. Add the egg, stir.

3. Add mixture to a greased skillet

4. Cook just like a pancake

5. Enjoy! With your preferred toppings :)  

DIY Skyline Canvas 

(easy for kids too!)

In the midst of getting my apartment decor together, 

I figured I'd share my latest canvas design with you!

What You Need

Canvas

Newspaper

Picture of Skyline

Paint

Glue

 

There is my canvas and skyline of Madison

Then painted a sky onto the canvas, over the entire surface

  Cut  your newspaper to the shape of skyline

Use a think black sharpie marker to color in lines, windows,

walls, etc. of your choice

Paint each individuals part of the skyline a different color

 

My skyline is going to be two layers.

So I glued the back layer on first to the canvas. 

Cut out strips of paper and fold them forward and backward

 alternating until you get a slinky form.

Glue these to your back layer as well. 

I then pressed the top layer of my skyline onto each paper slinky

by adding a dab of glue. 

( It's hard to see in that picture, but my top layer does pop out, giving it a 3D look. )

& I went over the black sharpie lines since the watercolor

made it fade a bit. I also added glitter to the lake and "Madison" at the top
